Norfolk Hawkers are on the wing from the last week of May and throughout June. There are some classic sites in Norfolk for this species but I think the RSPB reserve at strumpshaw Fen is one of the best. Norfolk Hawkers breed in drainage ditches that contain water soldier which is itself a rare plant in Britain so this impressive dragonfly is very restricted in its range.
