Brunnick Guillemots on Breeding Cliffs
Birds in their Environment Runner-up, International Wildbird Photographer of the Year 2008.
This image of a Brunnich Guillemot colony was taken at Alkefjellet in Svalbard. This has got to be one the most impressive bird cliffs I have ever seen with over 120,000 birds nesting in densely packed clusters on the beautiful basalt cliffs. The noise, smell and sight is one of the true Natural Wonders of the world.
